Lil Nas X is recovering after a health scare and being hospitalised in Los Angeles earlier this week.
According to the LAPD, officers responded to a report of a naked man walking along Ventura Boulevard around 5:50 a.m. on Aug. 21.
Police said that when they arrived, the man charged at officers and was taken into custody. He was then transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a police officer.
While authorities did not publicly confirm his identity, photos obtained by TMZ identified the man as the 26-year-old rapper.
The incident comes just months after Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, revealed he had been dealing with partial facial paralysis.
Back in April, he shared a video on Instagram showing how the left side of his face wasn’t fully responding when he smiled. “When I smile, this is me doing a full smile,” he explained at the time, laughing as he added, “It’s like, what the f–k? Bro I can’t even laugh right. Oh my god.”
Shortly after, he assured his fans that he was going to be fine.
“Guys I am ok!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!” he wrote in an Instagram Story. He continued to keep followers updated, saying he was working on strengthening his muscles and celebrating progress.
“My eye still has to play catch-up but I can give a genuine smile, so that’s good,” he shared in mid-April.
More recently, Lil Nas opened up about his career and how he’s been focusing on finding balance.
Speaking to Paper Magazine in April, he explained that he is now embracing the small joys of everyday life.
“Last time I was bringing the world to me and this time I’m bringing myself to the world,” he said.
“Now, I’m physically, emotionally, in every way, trying to go out and exist in the world. I mean the smallest things: walking in parks and going to grocery stores, little common s–t that I absolutely love and adore now. It’s brought me so much peace.”
Reflecting on his journey in music since the massive success of Old Town Road in 2018, the Grammy winner added, “As human beings we always want to succeed. I want to enter and stay committed to this area of my life where I don’t try to force every single thing to be the biggest thing in the world because at a certain point, it starts taking the fun out of it.
I finally found that fun again. I’ve been making so much music and getting more outside of my comfort zone.”
For now, fans are awaiting updates on his condition, while many continue to send their support as the rapper prioritizes both his health and his music.
