Lil Nas X has been charged with four felonies after his public naked meltdown last week, including assaulting police officers.
The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested by LAPD officers early Thursday morning after being filmed shouting song lyrics and making hand gestures while cars passed by.
Police said that he charged at officers during the incident.
The Old Town Road hitmaker was first seen walking along Ventura Boulevard in white boots and underwear. Later, he was completely naked when taken into custody.
Officers told NBC4 that Nas threw punches which led them to use force to bring him to the ground. He was first charged with misdemeanor battery on a police officer.
However, the rapper was taken to a hospital for a possible drug overdose before being returned to jail. A felony complaint shows he faces three counts of battery with injury on a peace officer and one count of resisting an executive officer.
If convicted, he could spend up to 12 years in prison.
Nas appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court wearing a blue jumpsuit with his attorney Christy O’Connor and the videos of the incident showed him putting a traffic cone on his head, performing song lyrics, and interacting with bystanders.
Authorities reported that Lil Nas X behaved calmly in jail and is keeping a low profile as he is waiting for his bail hearing while receiving three meals a day, including cereal, fruit, chicken, and bean-and-cheese burritos.
