Erin Andrews is still buzzing over Taylor Swift’s bold new era. The sportscaster couldn’t contain her excitement while discussing the singer’s showgirl-inspired photo shoot for The Life of a Showgirl
The album featured Taylor in glamorous, barely-there outfits ranging from a sparkling bra top to a red sequined bodysuit with fishnets.
“Oh, my god!” Erin exclaimed on the Aug. 21 episode of her Calm Down podcast with Charissa Thompson.
“We texted her and were like, ‘Good morning!’ Like, body-ody!” She added with admiration, “She looked great.”
Charissa was equally impressed, chiming in that the 35-year-old superstar was “looking like a million bucks,” joking that the photos had her thinking, “heads to gym.”
The co-hosts also turned their attention to Travis Kelce, applauding the NFL star for hyping Taylor up when she revealed the album details on his New Heights podcast earlier this month.
“When she was announcing all the names of what the songs were,” Charissa noted, “Travis was chiming in, ‘Banger, banger, banger.’” She added sweetly, “Trav, you’re adorable.”
As for why Taylor leaned into the dazzling showgirl aesthetic, the singer explained that it was deeply connected to her sold-out Eras Tour, where she recorded the album.
“This album was about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour,” Taylor said on New Heights on Aug. 13. “Which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
She described the record as coming from “the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” adding that the energy of that time poured into the music.
The Grammy winner even shared the meaning behind the striking album cover, which shows her in a bathtub wearing a glittery suit. To her, it symbolizes the exhaustion and exhilaration of winding down after a massive performance.
“When all this has gone down, you won’t be able to get to bed until 4 in the morning after this,” she explained.
“But you had to jump through 50 million hoops in this obstacle course that is your show. And you did it. You got two more in a row, but you did it tonight.”
For Erin and Charissa, the showgirl era is proof that Taylor is not just reinventing herself but thriving in the most dazzling way possible.
